New Audi A1 Sportback has made its first public appearance at the Paris motorbike exhibition. It sports smart interiors and smart technology that makes the cabins of other small cars look like they were built in the Stone Age.
2019 Audi A1 Sportback New Style
The new 2019 Audi A1 Sportback cannot look more different from the model it replaces. The circular style of the old car has vanished, replaced by the hustle and bustle of the wrinkles and corners that carry Audi A1 bang to date. This gets the latest Audi grille design we’ve seen in Audi A6 and Audi A8, while underneath it is a bouncing front bumper that doesn’t look out of place on a fast heat hatch. The air vents above the grille only add to the visual appeal of Audi A1, mainly because they look similar to those found in Audi’s old Quattro rally cars.
Audi A1 headlamps have daytime LED lights, while the car tail lights have an animation start-up procedure when you unlock the car. the latter is something that is likely to be a choice along with the full LED headlamps.
Move to the sides of the car and you will see Audi A1 available with a contrasting black roof which makes it look more sporty and is spent by a roof mounted spoiler that will help improve fuel economy. Go for the sporty S line model and you will also get side skirts and large split wheels.
That leaves the back of the car, which will be a complicated LED brake light and a creamy bumper with vibrant air ventilation. Expect a 1.4 liter gasoline model to get twin exhaust pipes, with the rest of the manufacturing range done with a single exhaust.
2019 Audi A1 Sportback New Interior
The new Audi A1 Sportback interior must be a bigger revolution than the exterior. The quality of the interior looks to have been improved and we can expect Audi A1 to be better built than the cheaper Volkswagen Polo, which Audi shares most of its parts with.
Even so, interior quality is not really a problem with Audi A1 at this time, but the rough infotainment system is a different problem. That will change with this new model which, in all but entry level cars, gets an 8.8 inches sat-nav screen (the old car has a 6.5 inches screen) with the option to be upgraded to a 10.25 inches screen. It will also come as standard with Apple Carplay and Android Auto and has the option to provide a 360 degree view of the car to help park.
Like the new Volkswagen Polo, Audi A1 will also be available with a 12.3 inches digital binnacle that can turn into a large map display at the touch of a button.
What will mark Audi A1 out of the rest of the well known conservative Audi range is a large selection of personalized choices designed to let you mark your own brand in the Car, as you can at the 3 door Mini. You can expect to be able to choose from various pieces of bright trim and interior coating colors, including leather. You can also specify your new Audi A1 with interior ambience lighting, sports seats and sports steering wheel.
2019 Audi A1 Sportback New Practice
In terms of practicality, the most obvious difference between old and new Audi A1s is that the latter will only be available with five doors making it significantly more practical if you often use a backseat.
Wherever you sit, you can expect a new Audi A1 to offer more space. Up front, there will be plenty of room for you even if you are tall and easy to get a comfortable driving position because all models will get a height adjustable driver seat and a moving steering wheel to reach and reach. Expect electricity adjustments at an additional cost along with the option to have a heated front seat.
This is a back seat where you will see the biggest increase, however, you can expect the new Audi A1 to offer space for your passengers comparable to that offered by the larger Audi A3. That means even six feet must be able to sit behind someone of the same size as the knee space and headroom for backup. With three in the back, things will start to feel a little more squeezed but the back seat is flat and the fact that there is room for three people means it can still be done.
There is more good news when you open Audi A1 boot. It will be big enough to swallow the extra small suitcase that you have to leave with the old car. In addition, you can expect Audi A1 loading space to be very well designed with a 12v power socket and lots of fastening hooks and shopping to help keep everything tidy.
The adjustable boot floor means you can give your back a rest by sliding heavy items into place rather than having to lift them. Expect 2019 Audi A1 rear seat to be neatly folded onto the floor so that it is easy to load larger items through a large boot opening. Getting an adult bike in a place should be easy if you remove one of the wheels.
2019 Audi A1 Sportback Engine, Specs
The new Audi A1 Sportback will share its engine with the Volkswagen Polo, which means you will be able to choose from a choice of small capacity gasoline engines – but there will be no diesel.
Making the backbone of the range will be a turbocharged 1.0 liter gasoline engine producing 94hp. Simple power output is the perfect pair for a relatively lightweight Audi A1 with that Audi must be able to get 0-62mph in just 9.5 seconds and have a top speed of more than 120mph.
In the real world, that means fast acceleration and relaxed roaming the latter especially because Audi A1 comes as a standard with a six speed manual gearbox, which also has to help improve fuel economy. You can expect the new A1 to be able to restore fuel economy more than 50mpg, without you having to try too hard.
If you are going to use a car mostly in the city or just want to give your left foot a rest on a long journey you will also be able to choose from a seven-speed automatic DSG. In full automatic mode, the gear shifts very smoothly, but the paddle behind the wheel means fast manual changes will also be offered.
If you are going to spend more time on the highway then you might want to increase from 1.0 liters to 148hp 1.5 liter gasoline, which will get an Audi A1 from 0-62mph in less than eight seconds. It has a cylinder deactivation technology, which means the engine can rest two cylinders when extra power is not needed smart technology which means it must be able to match the fuel economy of the 1.0 liter model.
The introduction of the new Audi A1 means we also need to have a new fast Audi A1 model to be excited about. Expect to follow the same formula as the current model, which gets an aggressive body kit and four exhaust pipes integrated into the rear bumper.
The new Audi A1 is expected to get the same 2.0 liter turbocharged engine that is paired with the Volkswagen Polo GTI 200hp, although Audi A1 will be tuned to produce more than 250 hp.
Audi A1 will be able to handle extra power because it is set to come with four- wheel drive as standard. Expect to be one of the fastest cars of its size able to jump from 0-62mph in less than six seconds. Mark this page to keep up to date with all the latest news about the new Audi A1 Sportback.
